HUD Secretary Visits Grandfamilies Place of Phoenix

HUD Secretary Shaun Donovan made a surprise visit to Grandfamilies Place of Phoenix on May 31, 2013. Grandfamilies Place of Phoenix is a residential development with 56 affordable housing units uniquely designed for grandparents raising their grandchildren in Phoenix, Arizona. APG is the developer and co-owner of this property with Tanner Properties.
Accompanied by Senator Leah Landrum Taylor and Congressman Ed Pastor, Secretary Donovan was able to tour the property and speak to some of the residents. “I just congratulate all of you on the remarkable work that you’re doing,” said HUD Secretary Shaun Donovan. “This really is an inspiration to me and I hope that … I can… try to get this kind of remarkable opportunity for grandparents that are raising their grandchildren repeated in other places.”
